‘Norwegian Blue’

An absurd homage to one of the best-loved comedy sketches of all time; Monty Python’s ‘Dead Parrot sketch’; originally a satire on poor customer service. This re-imagined interpretation plants the verbatim dialogue firmly into a surprisingly different apocalyptic setting, offering a peculiar and poetic manifestation of the famous scene.

The film was devised and shot in 2020 in the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic, navigating the different levels of lockdown restrictions, and required working with a very-micro-crew (for the most part just myself and my immediate family) to construct the set, light and then shoot the bulk of the material. Shot mainly on a stills camera as a series of refined studio photography, the material was then meticulously assembled and brought to life in post-production by Nomad Edit post production house.
